Heath is a former president of the Family Business Club and a 2015 graduate of the Wharton MBA program. Heath is a 5th generation member of a family business that originally focused on glass, paints and chemicals, but following a liquidity event has expanded its focus to through a family office framework. Heath’s family helped found and is heavily involved in the CCC alliance, a consortium of family offices, designed to pool investment strategies and share best practices.
Prior to attending the Wharton MBA program, Heath worked in Wealth Management in New York City. More recently, Heath worked on developing a viable commercial strategy for Brazil-based financial technology startup. Heath graduated from Trinity College in 2007 with a degree in economics.
In his free time, he enjoys skiing, cooking and playing guitar.
Juan Mata is a second-year MBA candidate at Wharton. Over the summer, he took a position as a Summer Consultant at The Boston Consulting Group’s Mexico office. Prior to Wharton, he worked at Anheuser Busch InBev. At ABI, Juan worked as a sales manager in Sao Paulo and later became a Trade Marketing Specialist, where he oversaw the imported premium brand division. Juan graduated Summa Cum Laude from Babson College in 2008 with a major in Finance and Economics.
Vidur is currently a first year MBA at Wharton with intended majors in healthcare management and strategy. Prior to Wharton, he ran his family’s business – a chain of high-end medical imaging centres – in New Delhi, India. He grew the business by starting new centres and creating a new vertical focused on research & development. He is a physician by education graduated from L.T.M. Medical College in Mumbai in 2009. Vidur is passionate about improving access and affordability of high-end medical services in the developing world. At Wharton, he leads the India Club and the Wharton India Economic Forum. In his free time, Vidur enjoys playing guitar and drums.
John is a board member of the Wharton Family Business Club and graduates from the Wharton MBA program in May of 2016. John’s family business operates in the timber and agricultural sectors with a focus on cultivating pine plantations in the southern United States.
Prior to attending Wharton, John spent time in the investment banking division of Goldman Sachs and as a credit analyst with Virgo Investment Group. John graduated summa cum laude from Princeton University in 2008 with a degree in Economics.
In his free time, John enjoys soccer, college football, fishing and hunting.
Zack is an Officer of the Wharton Family Business Club and graduated from the Wharton MBA program in May of 2015.
Zack's family practice is a financial advisory group with Deutsche Bank. The practice focuses on consulting and investment advisory services to a wide range of clients including large retirement plans, hospitals, endowments, foundations and high-net-worth individuals.
Prior to attending the Wharton MBA program, Zack was an associate in the structured solutions group within Deutsche Bank in New York City. Most recently, he interned at Titan Advisors an asset management and advisory firm focused exclusively on funds of hedgefunds. Post graduation Zack will be joining his father's practice based in Baltimore as a Client Advisor. Zack graduated from the Emory University in 2010 with a BBA. Zack is proficient in Spanish.
In his free time, Zack enjoys working out, cooking, traveling, and chess.
Rabindra is an Officer of the Wharton Family Business Club and graduated from the Wharton MBA program in May of 2015. Rabindra's family business, N.E. Group, is the joint-venture partner for Unilever in Nepal and operates primarily in the consumer goods sector with a growing portfolio of investments in the hospitality sector as well. He is seeking new investment opportunities to expand the group's hospitality investments internationally, while also looking to partner with companies seeking to enter Nepal.
Prior to attending the Wharton MBA program, Rabindra was the Director of Business Development at N.E. Group and a Director on the Board of Unilever Nepal. Prior to joining N.E. Group, Rabindra was a Financial Analyst at the Investment Banking Division of Citigroup in Palo Alto, California. Most recently, he has co-founded, Monk Collection, a luxury cashmere knitwear company based in the U.S. Rabindra's long-term goal is to return to his family business to expand its investments in the hospitality sector.
Rabindra graduated from Stanford University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and is proficient in Nepali, Newari and Hindi. In his free time, Rabindra enjoys playing soccer, exploring restaurants and keeping up with current affairs
Jerry Lin (WG’15) graduated from Claremont McKenna College in 2007. Prior to Wharton, Jerry spent two years as an Investment Banking Analyst with Goldman Sachs in New York and two years as a Private Equity Associate with Aurora Capital Group in Los Angeles. He then moved back to his hometown in Portland, OR where he became General Manager of his family’s paper packaging business, Standard Bag Manufacturing Co. At Wharton, Jerry cofounded Helix Sleep, an ecommerce mattress brand, which he plans to grow fulltime after graduation.
Michael is a founding board member of the Wharton Family Business Alumni Board and graduated from the Wharton MBA program in May of 2015.
Michael's family business operates businesses in the diversified industries sector primarily focused on the chemical industry. He is seeking new investment opportunities to expand the operations to the emerging markets in Latin America and some regions of East Asia as well as diversify into ancillary industries in the USA.
Prior to attending the Wharton MBA program, Michael worked in private equity for five years based in Southern California and New York City. Most recently, he interned at a venture capital company in Buenos Aires and helped them expand their global presence. Michael graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2008 with a degree in East Asian Studies & Japanese language. Michael is proficient in Japanese and intermediate Spanish.
In his free time, he enjoys surfing, backgammon, traveling and yoga.
Varun is a founding board member of the Wharton Family Business Alumni Board and will graduate from the Wharton MBA program in May of 2016.
Varun's family business is involved in the chemical and agriculture sectors in India, mainly focused on the castor oilseed.
